The newest NieR game, NieR Reincarnation (Free), from Square Enix finally launched worldwide for free back in 2021. It was one of the games revealed during the 10th anniversary livestream for the series, and it is now confirmed to be shutting down this April with the main story ending in March. NieR Reincarnation has had collaborations with NieR Automata, Persona, and more since launching. Today’s announcement reveals that the ‘The People and the World’ story will be the final one with the game staying online for a month after to let players experience it. With the April date, NieR Reincarnation will be shutting down about two and a half years after launching. Check out the current NieR Reincarnation roadmap for 2024 below:

The final story update for NieR Reincarnation arrives on March 28th with servers going offline on April 29th. As revealed in the roadmap, new characters and content will be added with events until the game goes offline. If you don’t bother playing it, the soundtrack is worth listening to. I hope this story is repurposed into something else because everything involving NieR is worth experiencing story wise.
